Walmart is experimenting with a mobile store solution for cities where the big box retail chain doesn't have a brick-and-mortar presence. Styled to resemble a roving food truck, the mobile Walmart store is covered in QR codes for specific products.
Procter & Gamble teamed up with Walmart for a month-long effort in New York City; both companies hope to get more consumers to start purchasing consumer packaged goods (CPG) online.
"We truly believe that’s the future. But people have yet to really adopt buying consumables online," P&G spokesperson Tim Marrin told Online Media Daily. "We think having free delivery, and getting this message out to urban shoppers who don’t have access to Walmart stores, is a great first start."

Interesting…
Walmart appears to be inspired by QR code stores in London, Korea, Japan…
Even though I am a believer in the mobile lifestyle, I do not know if what works in major metro population centers would work in anytown, USA just yet. Will have to watch and see.
It is good to see Walmart making efforts and taking risks to be on the cutting edge. Kudos to them for that…
Thanks for the comment, Murat. It made me think that it could be idea for Walmart to create a hybrid between e-commerce (it could be a spot to pick up things you’ve ordered online) and instant gratification mini-store (QR code enabled shopping for a limited number of items). –Trinity
